The mission of Up South, Inc. is to introduce our audience and readers to exciting, thought-provoking work by established and emerging writers and artists. We do that producing programs and events in intimate settings in and around New York City. And now, we’ve opened an UpSouth.org bookstore, giving you an opportunity to purchase the work of the book authors we’ve featured and love. So, if you couldn’t make our recent events to see and buy the books of novelists Lori Tharps, Ayesha Harruna Attah, Nana Ekua Brew Hammond, you can do it here and now from whether you are.
All the effort is toward our purpose to promote the art of storytelling and expand the possibility to enjoy books, art, literature.

Mission
The principle goal of the Up South International Book Festival (USIBF) is to create an annual literary oasis in uptown Manhattan to generate excitement about books and the writers, artists and others who produce them.
A book is a bridge between cultures and across boundaries of geography and language. They provide a mindful way to speak to the hearts of humanity. The Up South mission is to promote people who share their experience, tell their stories and make reading enlightening and entertaining.
USIBF also offers an opportunity for business, government, education and cultural organizations to collaborate and demonstrate the power and beauty of diversity, imagination and industry.
